The famous Sanskrit scholar and poet Sri Melpathur Bhattathiripad after writing Narayaneeyam and getting cured of his rheumatic disease, came to Mookkuthala for worship- ping the Devi to attain salvation on the advice of Lord Guruvayurappa. Here he worshipped ‘Mookkolamma’ for twelve years and in course of this period wrote ‘Seepadasapthathy’ containing seventy stanzas (slokas) adorning the ‘lotus like feet’ of Devi and attained salvation. He also wrote another sixteen stanzas of poetry adorning Devi from head to feet.
